Royal Air Force Typhoon FGR4s have operated alongside France's air force in a joint strike on an underground arms cache in Syria employed by the Islamic State group (IS), per a report from the UK's MoD.
The site, pinpointed through reconnaissance, was thought to be storing arms and explosives, the statement said, and was positioned in hills just north of the historic site of Palmyra in the heart of Syria.
"Our aircraft employed Paveway IV guided bombs to target a series of access tunnels down to the site... preliminary assessments are that the strike was effective," officials stated.
There was no sign of any civilian impact in the attack on Saturday evening and all the aircraft made a safe return, the defence officials confirmed.
The British jets were backed up by a Voyager refuelling tanker.
IS - referred to as the so-called Islamic State - imposed extremist governance over parts of both Syria and Iraq before its territorial defeat in 2019.
"This strike demonstrates our UK leadership, and resolve to operate in unison with our allies, to eradicate any resurgence of Daesh and their dangerous and violent ideologies in the area," UK Defence Secretary the minister said.
RAF aircraft have conducted overwatch operations over Syrian airspace to "forestall any efforts to regroup" of IS subsequent to its defeat at the climactic battle in Baghuz in 2019, the ministry said.
"I extend gratitude to every member of British forces involved in this strike for their expertise and their valour," the Defence Secretary added. "They were part of numerous British personnel stationed over Christmas and New Year. This operation, to remove militants who pose a risk to our security, highlights how our armed forces are always on standby, all year round, protecting the UK at home and strong abroad."
In December, the United States armed forces conducted what it called a "major assault" against Daesh sites in Syria, following an assault killed two US servicemembers and a local interpreter in the Palmyra area.
The United Nations reports Daesh still has between 5,000 and 7,000 militants in Syria and Iraq.
